Important Reentry Information

Dear Enchanted Hills Mustangs:

We welcome you back to campus with an open heart into the 20-21 school year! Every staff member is excited and ready to have students present for in person learning.  The purpose of this communication is to give you all of the information you need to have your student return successfully.  Please read carefully.

All kindergarten - third grade students will be present Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Fourth and fifth graders will attend two days a week, either Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday.  No classes will occur on campus on Wednesdays.  The school day runs from 9:00-4:00.  Students may begin entering the building starting at 8:45 am.

Masks: The Public Health order requires mask-wearing for all people,  each day.  This rule will be enforced throughout each day except while eating or drinking.

The types of allowable face masks include:

  • Face masks made of two or more layers of cloth.

  • Disposable masks for people who forget to bring their masks to school.

  • Face masks with a clear plastic window or that are made of clear material.

  • Surgical, procedural, N95 or KN95 face masks.

The following are not allowed according to the state guidelines:

  • Masks that have exhalation valves or vents

  • Bandanas

  • Scarves

  • Neck gaiters.

Visitors/Volunteers: No parents, visitors, or volunteers are allowed on campus. Parents will be asked to drop off students at the crosswalk areas.  Anyone coming to pick up a student must have their ID.

Symptoms of Illness:  All staff and students are screened before entering campus to check for a high temperature and/or symptoms of COVID.  Anyone that shows the following symptoms either at the start of the day or during the day will be sent home.

  • Temperature over 100 degrees (fever) or chills

  • Coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache

  • New loss of smell or taste

  • Sore throat, congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

We will utilize our care room to isolate any symptomatic students with the nurse until families can pick up the student.  Students must stay home until the symptoms dissipate for 24 hours without any medication.  Students or staff that are exposed to COVID will quarantine for 14 days with excused absences and asynchronous virtual learning.  The school will report and follow all state guidelines regarding contact tracing. Please use the attached guide to help determine if your student should stay home due to illness.

Red Lot/Blue Lot drop off and pick up:  We are adjusting the drop off and pick up procedures in both lots this year.  Both lots will have traffic flow in only one direction. For Red Lot (kindergarten and first grade students and their siblings) drop off, families will enter coming from Saratoga to Obregon.  Once in the lot, cars will be allowed to form two drop off lines.  You are allowed to drop off students within the yellow safety poles.  All students need to wait until all cars have stopped moving and exit from the right side of their cars.  After all cars have had their students reach the curb, duty personnel will then let the two rows of cars exit the lot and have the next set of cars pull up.  You will only be able to turn left out of Red Lot to exit back to Saratoga.  For Blue Lot (second - fifth graders), all traffic will enter from 528 to Obregon.  The cars will also be allowed to form two lines.  Students will need to exit on the left side of cars in the Blue Lot.  You will only be able to turn right out of Blue Lot back towards 528.  In both cases, students may be asked to wait for a few minutes in their cars so that temperature check stations can be clear.  Pick up procedures will remain the same as last year. While drop off will allow two lanes of cars in drop off areas, pick up will only allow one.  Dismissal times will be staggered.  Second and third graders will be dismissed to lots at 3:45 pm.  Kinder and first graders will be dismissed at 3:50 pm. Fourth and fifth graders will be dismissed at 4:00. Siblings will aim to be dismissed at the same time as their youngest family member. The attached diagrams on this link model how the process will work.

Materials/Chromebooks: Students (K-5) are expected to bring their Chromebooks to and from school each day.  Please remember to charge computers nightly and leave the charging cords at home. Starting Monday, students will get a carrying case to help protect their Chromebook during travel.  Teachers will let you know what other materials or items students should bring to school daily and weekly.

We are here to help and answer any questions you may have as we begin this hybrid model. Please continue to practice patience as we all work together to make this new beginning as smooth as possible. We are so thankful that each and every one of you are here with us!
